When we sat down to talk approximately 60 days ago, the gentlemen from MPower and I shared a few laughs about the (sometimes) intense resistance to their endeavor.
As of today however, there is little to laugh about. They have been, and continue to be, the target of potentially both governmental and quasi-governmental interference and a smear campaign being conducted throughout the country under cover of darkness.
As a citizen, a business owner and a human, I am beyond appalled that such immoral and potentially illegal abuses of power are being carried out at all, but it is particularly frightening that it’s being done in the shadows.
The calculated efforts to derail, discredit, and ultimately bury these people for daring to try to innovate may not be sexy, but it calls for light to be shone. And shine it will…because quite simply, it could be any one of us. And that, my friends, should send chills down our collective spine.
